Westfield is a friend of native plants!  If you travel along 31 between 146th street and hwy 38, you will begin to see native plants growing along the roadside.  Westfield chose to forgo the usual grass and specimen trees so common along highways.  Instead, under the direction of Chris McConnell, the city has planted native trees, wildflowers and grasses along the roadway.
